Medicare
Normal Medicare, or Original Medicare, (Part A & B), is a federal fee-for-service program for those 65+ or with disabilities, allowing beneficiaries to use any doctor accepting Medicare nationwide. It covers inpatient hospital stays and medical services, generally paying 80% of approved costs after deductibles
Medigap
Medicare Supplement Insurance, often called Medigap, is private insurance designed to fill "gaps" in Original Medicare (Part A and Part B), such as deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments. It works exclusively with Original Medicare to reduce out-of-pocket expenses and is standardized ino plans labeled by letters (e.g., Plan G, Plan N).
Hospital Indemnity
Hospital indemnity insurance is a type of supplemental policy that pays you a fixed, direct cash benefit if you are hospitalized due to a covered illness or injury. Unlike traditional health insurance, these funds are not paid to doctors and can be used for any purpose, such as deductibles, copays, or daily expenses.
